COMPETITION ENTRY FOR ECHIGO-TSUMARI ART TRIENNALE 2018
レットハウスとは、香港と日本の間に共通する文化および芸術的な交流をはかるプラットフォームです。
当コンペでは新潟県越後妻有に行う「大地の芸術祭」において初参加となる香港ハウスの建設と香港アートを展覧する拠点となっています。
レットハウスは本来廃棄された一軒家を新しく立て直すではなくて、「不完全性」の美意識とする「詫び寂び」の内装設計及び新しいアットを加えてことで持続可能な設計を目指しています。
香港と越後妻有は違う場所であっても共有している部分はたくさん存在していて。どれも豊かな自然と山に囲まれてて季節ごと景色が変わってます。レットハウスの外見に設置するスチールフレームはこの由来です。
インテリアでは、詫び寂びに表す香港の特有性の工業的なスタイルを選び、改装されています。 香港人とってははノスタルティックなデザインであり、初めての日本人にとっては新鮮感を与えます。
The red house is an artistic platform for cultural and aesthetic exchange between Hong Kong and Japan. It aims to create a dialogue for the non-tangible and tangible aesthetic values of the two cultures where the common grounds are being celebrated.
The red house depicts the analogy of the ‘imperfection’ from the Japanese aesthetic philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, by re-adapting the existing condition of the red house with new interior and exterior functions.
The mountain inspired steel frame installation devotes our physical connection with mountain nature and urban settlements and provides great opportunity for seasonal celebrations.
The interior is retrofitted with vintage Hong Kong industrial style that showcase the materiality of Hong Kong. To Hong Kong nationals, it represents nostalgia, and to Japanese nationals it represents invigoration.
